Toshikoshi Pizza!!

Today's dinner might be my the best toshikoshi dinner I've ever had.

I didn't eat any toshikoshi soba.

I ate delivery pizza from domino's.

Why I hadn't thought of pizza on new year's eve.

This should be my new tradition.

I don't like Osechi.
But now I have some leftover pizzas instead of osechi.

Yes!!!

I'm disappointed of Japanese media's reports.
Satoshi Tanaka, the Okinawa Defense Chief, said, "Would you say, 'I will rape you,' before you rape someone?" to reporters in an unofficial meeting.
I'm dissapointed of his statement too.
What I'm also concerned is what the media said in the news.
They said, "This is an isult to every women."
And here comes my first line. "Not all rape victim are women."

I've studied when I was in college that 10% of rape victims are male.
Even the picture on rape kit has changed to female to unisex person.

First time playing baseball in Japan.

I've played baseball in US.
To be more percise, I picked up baseball in US.

However, today was my first time playing baseball in Japan.
From 6:15AM
I had to wake up at 5.
Tooooo early!!

I had four at bats.
Single
Walk

Where did I play?
I was the third baseman.

How we play?
Lost. lol

It was fun though.

FC Tokyo vs Yokohama FC

I went to see a soccer game between FC Tokyo and Yokohama FC at the National Olympic Stadium.

I'm not a big fan on either team.
However, FC Tokyo, the home team, won 3-0.
Event most of the time FC Tokyo was possesning the ball, it was an exciting match.
I'm glad I was there.

Kazu, "the King" from Yokohama FC, played today as starter.
I know him before the J-League started which is 18 years ago.
I can't believe he's been playing at the top level for 18 years.

What was I doing 18 years ago?
Well, I was a junior high student and GK.

Anyhow, I really had a fun day!!!

I've got pulled over by a police officer.

When I'm riding my bicycle, a police officer pulls me over.

A police officer has right to ask any person if he or she thinks that person or group is or will be involved in any criminal activity.

Here I am, riding a bike, groceries in the basket; why does this convince him enough to think that I commit any crime. Maybe shoplifting?

I aske the officer, "Officer, was I suspicious in any way?"

He replies, "After the earthquake, some Chinese commit burglaries and use bicycle to check houses. And I couldn't tell if you were Chinese or not just by looking at you. You know, they have their accents."

I found this very, and very, uncomfortable.
Isn't this a discrimination?
For his point of view, Chinese with bicycle are suspicious enough to commit crime?
I'm sure there are many Japanese criminals who use bicycle.

Other thing that doesn't make any sense to me is "After, earthquake"
The government ordered residents in certain area to leave because of their saftey from radioactivity.
And criminals go to those abandoned houses and steal.
However, those houses are nowhere near Tokyo.

He doesn't think I'm Chinese because I don't have any Chinese accent.
I'm sure their are many Chinese who speak just like natives.

I'm very thankful to the officer that he patrol our neighbor, but I want him to know if he stick too much to preconception, he can false arrest somebody.
Also there are people like me who can speak more than two languages with no accents.

It depends on how you intercept.

What a typhoon.

Many local trains have stopped.

A guy get hit by a fallen tree while he is in his car and get injured.

How do you feel about these accidents if these happen to you?

Unlucky because you are stuck in your office?

Unlucky that you are injured?

OR

Lucky because you are safe in the office rather than in train might have derailed?

Lucky that you are not dead which could have been fatal.


It's not what happens.
It's "how do you react to it".

There is always a room for you to take it positively.

Bicycle specialist.

There's a weird guy in a train today.

He was carrying a bicycle seat!! (and nothing else)

"Where is the rest of your bicycle!?"

"Did you steal that? or somebody stole your bicycle but left the seat."


or "Is he some kind of bicycle specialist that something I don't know about?"

For instance, he is a professional bicycle seat carrier.

テロから10年。

ふと頭に思い浮かぶのは「もう10年か～。」
でもそこに短いとか、長いとかのtimeframeはない。

コロラドで朝のニュースで知った。
最初に見た映像はビルから煙が上がっていた。映画の撮影だと思った。
その後、学校に行ってテレビの前に人だかり。何かただ事ではない事が起きているのを感じた。

すごく悲しかったけど、自分の身の危険は特に感じなかった。
住んでいた場所が田舎でとても治安が良い所だったからかな。
その後、同じ州にあるアメリカ国内最大の空軍基地がテロの標的の一つになっていたのを知って少し恐怖を覚えた。

本当に恐怖を覚えたのはむしろテロの後だった。
人々の悲しみが一段落すると、今度はそれが怒りに変わり、罪のないアラブ系の人々にまで向けられ、アメリカ国内で暴行死が相次いだ。
それがアジア系にまで広がらないか怖かった。

間髪いれず、今度はAnthrax（たんそ菌）。
郵便物に含まれていたケースが相次いでたくさんの郵便局が一時的に閉鎖されたりした。実際にうちの近所の郵便局も1日か2日休んだ。
他には偽物が横行した。

そしてその後、イラクやアフガンに出兵。
これに正当性があるかどうかは私にはわからない。
ただイラクに行ったのは、第1次湾岸戦争が煮え切らない形で終わったからそれにケリをつけるために行った感が強いと個人的には思う。

何が正義で、何が悪かは国によって違う。
価値観の違う相手と対峙したら、手を差し伸べよう。
もちろその手には武器の代わりに手土産でもｗ
「お土産にチョコレートに外れはない。」と誰かが言ってたな。

戦争に生き物が死ぬのは避けられない。
誰かが死ぬと言う事は、その周りの残された人々が悲しむ。
気持ち良く終わる戦争なんてあるのか？？
スポーツの試合のように、最後にはお互い握手出来るようなやり方はないのか。
地球は人間だけのものじゃない。

私なりに考えた和製英語。

「パブリックフェイスクラッシャー」

意味：面目丸潰れ
用法：ある事を世間に知られると日の目を見れなくなる時に使う。

さらにこれの上をいくのが、
「ソーシャルフェイスクラッシャー」
これをされた相手は末代までの恥を感じる。
